My original post on personality types was a real hit! I have thoroughly enjoyed reading about all of your "modern" personality types, and I have really enjoyed reading your guesses about my personality type! Before I tell you my type, let's look at everyone else's. Here's the round up:
- 1 Scientologist ENFP
- 1 Cult Leader ENFJ
- 3 Mad Scientists ENTP
- 1 Idealist INFP
- 1 Crackpot ISFP
- 2 Conspiracy Theorists INFJ
- 2 non-ADD spouses who are Thought Police ISTJ
Interesting! Lots of extroverts and lots of intuitives in the ADD world!
Alas, I am an ENFJ:
ENFJs are the benevolent 'pedagogues' of humanity. They have tremendous charisma by which many are drawn into their nurturant tutelage and/or grand schemes. Many ENFJs have tremendous power to manipulate others with their phenomenal interpersonal skills and unique salesmanship. But it's usually not meant as manipulation -- ENFJs generally believe in their dreams, and see themselves as helpers and enablers, which they usually are.
By the Not So Typical standards, I am a Cult Leader:
ENFJs are big thinkers. They are extremely charismatic, and wish to offer the benefit of their wisdom to the world at large. They tend to see the grand scheme of things, and to be able to deduce connections between things that other people miss; these psychological personality traits are the result of the fact that they are the Messiah.
Is it possible that Odd One Out will develop a cult-like following? I certainly hope so!
And if I am leading some kind of maverick cult, don't worry. I promise I won't ask you to drink any poison Kool-Aid. (Like that would work, anyway. Can you imagine a group of ADDers on a suicide pact? Wait, that Kool-Aid thing was TODAY?)
Congrats to John M and CT for guessing correctly! And as the first correct guess, John wins the prize: a copy of my book, Odd One Out: The Maverick's Guide to Adult ADD. Although John doesn't have ADD, he does write a very helpful blog on Adult ADD and Money. Congratulations, John!
Thanks for playing everyone! The response to this little game has been great and I'll be on the lookout for more blog contest ideas!
Oh, and by the way, I want to send out special thanks to RJC for guessing that I was a National Enquirer Headline and thus thinking me capable of shagging the Brazilian Women's Volleyball Team.

Wow :-) I became the Thought Police... well, I'm an Aspie with that legendary "sense of social justice which contrasts oddly with a pronounced lack of need for peer relationships" thingie, so that could greatly influence my results. I found your blog two months ago when I tried to get a dx for whatever is true of me, because I knew something is not right, but I didn't have a clue what it is. Later I learned I'm not an ADDer lose and forget things because of my dyscalculia (the result is similar though). But I like your bloggie and I linked it on my Hungarian page ( http://solaria.freeblog.hu if you can get someone who understands :))
Good luck!
