We're back from the CHADD conference! It was exhausting! I'm glad to be back home and back to my normal structure.
I've seen every side of the conference industry. For about 5 years, I worked for a company that produced business conferences. I was a Marketing Manager and promoted the events, and got stuck attending many of them, too. That was awful. Conference organizers get up at the crack of dawn and often work 12-14 hour days.
When I became a coach and started attending conferences, I got the experience of being a delegate--clearly the best role of them all. You get to relax and learn!
Last week, I added a new conference experience - being an exhibitor.
We had a good time exhibiting. It was great to meet newsletter and blog readers and clients face-to-face (more on that later in the week.) And it was nice to talk to people about my book and our products, rather than just emailing about them. However, it took a lot out of me. I'm an extrovert and I enjoy interacting with people, but I didn't realize just how much brain power that would take! Good thing we got to the event a day early to rest up. :)
I'll be posting some lessons learned and some more interesting stuff later this week. (A special deal on some surplus products, too!) Stay tuned!
